Many people believe that excessive weight does not carry any health risks and all they need to get rid of it is going on a diet. However, this opinion is erroneous, because weight loss process often requires a lot of effort, concentration and motivation.
If you don’t start the excess weight treatment on time, it gradually builds up and leads to serious health problems.
For the treatment of overweight patients, doctors can prescribe Duromine.
As a powerful anorexigenic drug, Duromine helps suppress the appetite, which is often the cause of overeating and extra weight gain.
Duromine is approved for the treatment of excessive weight and obesity in teenagers aged 12 and more and in adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30kg/m2 or more. However, Duromine anorectic may be prescribed in lower BMI values - from 25 kg/m2.
The main condition of prescribing Duromine for the treatment of patients with a BMI of 25 to 29 kg/m2 is the presence of risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or hyperlipidemia.
Duromine therapy in patients who are overweight promotes a rapid weight loss, which, in turn, has beneficial effects on the overall patient’s condition.
If obese patients start obesity treatment in a timely manner, they can achieve:
- Insulin resistance reduction
- Lipid profile improvement
- Blood pressure normalization
- Reduction of cardiovascular risks
The faster overweigh patients start using the anorectic drug Duromine, the sooner they will be able to bring their weight back to normal and improve their life quality.
Drug for the treatment of excessive weight Duromine is produced in oral capsules in three doses: 15mg, 30mg and 40 mg.
Capsules contain the anorectic substance Phentermine, which suppresses hunger center and stimulates the center of saturation.
While obesity treatment involves using high doses of Duromine (30mg and more), just one Duromine 15mg capsule per day may be sufficient for an effective treatment of excess weight.
The difference in therapeutic doses may be caused by the fact that metabolic disorders in obese people are more pronounced than in overweight patients. Treatment of these disorders may require higher anorectic doses.
If patient continues experiencing increased appetite, the daily dose of Duromine is increased until the desired therapeutic response is achieved.
The maximum recommended dose is Duromine 40 mg per day.
However, Duromine daily dose may sometimes exceed the recommended dose (assuming good anorectics tolerability).
Treatment duration of patients with excess weight and patients with obesity also may vary. Excessive weight, unlike obesity, is characterized by a smaller amount of body fat. Consequently, overweight treatment can last less than the anti-obesity treatment course.
You should know that Duromine is intended for two ways of use:
- Continuous anorectic therapy (no more than 12 weeks in a row)
- Intermittent anorectic therapy (2 weeks of u se alternate with two weeks of rest from the drug)
Clinical studies have shown that tolerance to the anorectic effect of Duromine develops within a few weeks. Therefore, intermittent anti-obesity therapy is a better option that helps avoid tolerance.
Particular attention during the treatment course with this anorectic should be drawn to possible drug interactions between Duromine and other drugs the patient uses.
When Duromine is used concomitantly with oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin, patient may need to reduce therapeutic doses of his antidiabetic drugs.
Duromine capsules are used with caution in overweight patients on stimulants, since this anorectic can enhance the inhibitory effect of such drugs over the CNS.
- Duromine also can raise blood pressure.
Therefore, this anorectic should be used with caution in the treatment of overweight patients, who suffer from mild hypertension. They might require lowering of the daily Duromine dose.
The negative impact on the CNS can also be produced through a joint application of Duromine with alcohol. Besides the fact that alcohol inhibits the CNS action and causes a lot of side effects, it also increases your appetite and stimulates uncontrolled binge eating.
Increased appetite leads to overeating and weight gain. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption while using Duromine.
It should be noted that patients will not be able to safely get rid of excess weight and improve their health, if they don’t follow the instructions and recommendations for Duromine use.
